Puppy Obedience Training

We can show you how to take training to the next level and have a dog that can hold a stay on a mat while guests come through your door, heel nicely beside you, respond to your cues at a distance and hold a stand stay for examination. With focus on both obedience and exercises to continue working on self-control and manners, this course has it all.

This class is geared towards high levels of obedience, but also provides fun activities for you when enjoying quality time with your best friend. The program focuses on obedience exercises including: Sit, Down, Stay, Come, Off, Heel, and any specific problem your dog may have. This program helps your dog to put its best paw forward!

Dog Owner Training

In our owner training program we teach you and your dog to work together in 6 one-on-one sessions. Throughout the trainings we work on a variety of commands including: Sit, Down, Heel, Stay, Come, Off. Keep in mind that the key to training is consistency, so the results from this training are all up to you. Follow the trainer’s instructions and practice with your dog daily

Training FAQs

Please review the list below. It details everything you need to know before the first day of training.

Training drop off will be scheduled on a Monday.  Please plan to drop off no later than 11am.

  • Plastic food container with lid
  • Dry dog food (2 weeks worth or more)
  • Vaccination paperwork
  • No stuffed toys or bedding are needed.

  • Change in feeding schedule – We typically do not feed training dogs breakfast to make sure they are focused and ready to learn during their daily training sessions. They receive treats during their training sessions in the morning and then lunch and/or dinner, depending on your instructions. Training dogs also have access to fresh water at all times.
  • Change in level of food consumption – Training is not only mental exercise, but physical as well. Your dog may require larger meals. In any case, you will be kept informed about their level of consumption and informed if we believe any changes to the size of their meals is needed.
  • Socialization with other dogs – Provided your pup is suitable for group playtime and passes a temperament test, they will participate after their 2nd week of training. During this time they will learn social skills, working with distractions, and how to interact with other dogs.

The first 2 weeks of training is spent 1-on-1 with a trainer each day and practice with our kennel techs the rest of the day. At the end of the 2nd week your dog will be placed in a group setting provided all is well with their temperament. Their playtime will also consist of following their training schedule & practice.

  • 1st payment due at the time of scheduling

Each dog is worked for a 30 min session 1-on-1 with a trainer. Throughout the day your dog will practice what they have learned with a kennel tech.

This is done to keep your dog happy, healthy and eager to learn. Overworking your dog can result in boredom and frustration that ultimately hinders us from getting the desired results. Our goal is to train your dog on the appropriate behaviors, but also for your dog to enjoy the training process.

For the first several weeks of training we strongly recommend not visiting your dog outside of the scheduled sessions. The reason for this is to keep your dog’s morale high during training. If they see you, and are again separated from you too often, it may cause anxiety on their part. Seeing you once a week makes them eager to please you; and show you everything they have learned!

Your dog will be engaging in multiple activities daily. If they aren’t training they could be exercising, having a meal, practicing what they have learned, playing in the play area, resting, etc.

Your dog will be walked 5 times daily.

Yes, we request you bring at least 2 weeks’ worth of food in a plastic container at the time of drop off.
